HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I thought I was the only one who knew about this?! I was wrong! DAMMIT!!!

I see nothing wrong with having a little porno on you; at least we’ll know what you like. Time recently released this article regarding pornography on our beloved iPhones. That’s right ladies and gents, PORN on your iPhones. And mind you–its FREE!!! At least for now it is.

I can do nothing right now but laugh! Maybe you will too…here’s the link:

A ninja friend of mine had this posted on her blog. I don’t know yet if Mother Theresa wrote it herself, but I’m bound to find out. It was so phenomenal that I wanted to share with all two of you! And it goes a little something like this…

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have,and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

I just realized that I had a new episode of Mad Men in the wings of my iPhone. I wish this thing alerted me every time there was a new episode. Argh! But no matter…

Anyway, we’re beginning to see the cinch in Don Draper’s (John Hamm) armor beginning with this latest episode of Mad Men entitled “The New Girl”. I just finished watching this episode and the nuances within each awesome scene is nothing less than phenomenal. This episode is soon to be a classic!

The storyline that grabbed me that most in this particular episode lies in Don’s explosive affair with Barbera “Bobbie” Barret (Melinda McGraw), wife of entertainer Jimmy Barret (Patrick Fischler) and foreshadowing that might be in store. This latest episode highlighted an end scene which, I speculate, very-subtly implies Jimmy with some sort of Italian-Mafia tie in. That’s right…a MAFIA TIE IN! Damn this season is getting good!!!

Don doesn’t realize the subtle implications of passive-aggressive behavior that Jimmy is displaying. Why? I don’t know–he probably writes it off as Jimmy’s usual “wit”–but I take it that he’s so distracted by Bobbie and the secret that they share, that he’s not checking himself.

I had to watch this scene again and again, shot for shot, line for line, in order to get every nuance of what I think has to be the best performance and dialog so far. I broke up the scene in sections so that I could break down every detail. It’s broken up in CAPS in an “EXCHANGE”; a break in the exchange of dialogue between characters. Think of it like a social fencing match or battle of wits.

Here’s to sum up:

INTRO
• Jimmy walks in with Bobbie (his wife) accompanied by that blond account guy
• Jimmy complements Don’s new secretary (she’s hot) as “Some kind of ‘tomato farm’ you got here…”
• After pleasantries are exchanged Jimmy tells “blondie” to “wait outside”, and proceeds into Don’s office accompanied by Bobbie

EXCHANGE 1
• Don addresses Jimmy and “Mrs. Barret” as Jimmy asks Don about his arm
• Don responds “Old football injury”
• Jimmy fires back, “Yeah, I get those too.”

EXCHANGE 2
• Don offers Jimmy a seat
• Jimmy replies “No need. I’ll keep this short.”

EXCHANGE 3
• Jimmy thanks Don for helping with sponsors for new show
• Don replies “My pleasure.”
• Jimmy fires back, “Yeah, we all got what we wanted, didn’t we?”, and turns to look at Bobbie, then Don.

EXCHANGE 4
• Jimmy continues in clarifying himself in stating that by the way he behaved, he wouldn’t be surprised if Don dropped Jimmy and his show.
• Don says, “Now why would I do that?”
• Jimmy replies, “This guy…I can’t tell if he’s being smug or not” and continues by saying, “I just wanted you to know that I’m not a bad guy.”

CONCLUSION
• Don replies, “You didn’t have to come here and say that…I know that.”
• Jimmy replies, “Nobody knows that.” and reaches out his hand to shake with Don, and continues by saying “You’re a cool cat Donnie.” Then leaves.
• Bobbie on the way out says goodbye to “Mr. Draper”
• Don is confused.

So here’s my analysis:

I think that Jimmy Barret is going to end up Jimmy Barretti, an Italian-American performer with some Mafia ties that will end up being a big problem for good ol’ Don Drapper. The preceding scene could be sorme sort of “lie-detector test” brought on by Jimmy in order to unknowingly squeeze the truth out of Don. My implication is that Jimmy is getting a pretty good idea that Don and Bobbie are fucking, (the broken arm, Bobbie’s black eye) but just needs some sort of confirmation in person. I think this scene in particular proves that Don is hiding something, as just an episode ago, Don didn’t give two shits about Jimmy or his career. Now the Don is being a little too lenient, Jimmy’s getting a little suspicious. It would have been wiser for Don to cover his tracks and tell Jimmy to fuck-off with his apology and get the fucking job done. Then, I think, Jimmy would’ve known that Don was legit, after all the two men didn’t meet eye to eye. Instead, Don complements Jimmy–perhaps a subconscious reaction to the guilt he has for banging his wife.

This is all speculation of course, and I can go on and on with other theories regarding this fantastic show. One thing is for damn sure–the performances, writing, composition, and direction of Mad Men is turning up nothing short of EXCELLENT.

So WordPress has this cool function that I just learned about. I can import blogs from previous other blogs on different blogs of the net. Neat! So I have some material that I’ve recently imported from my blogger.com site. You’ll see it in the archive section of the blog. My earlier entries were mostly about getting in to school and the process in those moments of my life. As always, the blogs are filled to the juicy brim with the raw emotions of yours truly, as well as some other gems you probably didn’t know about me like how horrid my English were.

=P Enjoy!

So I’m looking for sites on mixtapes, anything that can be download-able. I’m sure there are hundreds of sites that I can choose from…

So I google up “mixtapes” and am presented with circus wealth of mixtape websites on the latest in crunk-and-bump hip hop. Not bad, but not my flavor. I prefer the boom-bap of rap. I like my shit MIXED, and not shouting over the lyrics like you were CB-1, or something. Anyway, I didn’t find much, but I’ll keep looking…

Daylight.

Found out that the chair to my Ad department helped bring this commercial to life. So funny…

Here are some more from all over the world. High-larious! Enjoy.

Nils Lindstrom told me something the last day of school. He said, “It’s okay for others to be better than you.” He went on to explain that it’s ‘okay’ because I’ll always have something to learn from other people. Ambition is not always the joy in my day, but I understand it makes up a lot of who I am. I have been so ambitious for so long that I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I wasn’t that way. I guess this was Nil’s way and perhaps God’s little way of saying…slow down. You don’t have to always be the best.

And so begins my new anthem…

So FINALS are done. And it’s vacation for the next three weeks. My last day was unremarkable. I almost couldn’t believe that the term was all over. It’s only been a term, but it seemed like a whole year. Crazy. I guess school will do that to me.

Still, the experience was unexpected and wondrous. It opened my eyes to things I never knew before, and things that I’m just getting to know–in my work, in my habits, in my work, and in my SELF. It’s a great time of discovery for me; makes me think of why I didn’t get to do this earlier.

Okay, well I feel better now–that’s the good news. The bad news is that I’m going to have to dig deep and get shit done in less than 24 hours. I know I can do this; I’ve done it before. For now, I’m glad I came to grips with the fact that I was lacking a maturity in my work ethic. I finally took a good look in the mirror and realized what I’m doing this all for. How ironic that at the same time, eureka struck once again and I was inspired with the theme I was looking for. I hope it’s not too late. See you on the flip side.

Oh and by the way, I changed the header to the new logo. Gangsta.

FINALS SUCK BIG BALLS!!!

I cried for the first time today because I realized how much I SUCK as a student and how much I SUCKED as an Art Director. I just let it out and asked God to help me with strength, patience, and perseverance. This prayer is for me and anyone at school who needs a little help from a higher source.

I going to FAIL HARD just to realize what I’m made of, and how much I need to learn in order to ENDURE…

I believe that Jim “Wojo” showed this in our Comm 1 class last week. Superb-ness…

Found this video on youtube looking for a particular scene from Mad Men. It’s a short, amateur produced interview with Bill Blackshaw, old school BBDO, retired. I happen to think that ad people never really retire, we just die. Pretty interesting. Enjoy.

Found out more about these inspiring “Go World” Visa ads. The ad agency to these out is TBWA/Chiat Day, New York. Visa used to be with BBDO with supposed 20-year history, then switched over to Chiat. What’s funny is that BOTH of these agencies are owned by a single parent company–Omnicron. If I could just find out who the AD or CD was that would be awesome. I’ll probably come across it somehow. I like the choice of Morgan Freeman being key in the branding voice of these commercials, almost reminding us of his “God” roles in the Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty movies. Anyway, here are more for your viewing pleasure as well as some promos on background…

BEST DAMN COMMERCIAL ON THE OLYMPICS EVER!!!

Here’s the story…

Love love love this commercial.
